Forget Boring Presentations- Get Creative with ‘Prezi’
Looking for a new way to present information? Prezi is a presentation tool that is attempting to out-think the likes of PowerPoint and SlideRocket. Its interface is highly focused and user intuitive with zoom movements bringing the subject matter to you. Prezi is definitely different…but is it ground breaking?
Prezi provides a fresh approach to slide management…the use of perspective to surprise and also inform the presentation participants will prove to be more than novel. It’s effective and seems organic.
The interface is flash-based and with a Pro account, can be toyed with offline (looks like an Adobe Air App). If you’d like to have that beautiful Prezi logo removed, you be paying.
While Prezi gives a great interface, this presentation tool is NOT for every business professional. If you have issues with new sorts of navigation or websites that are structured differently than “header, navigation, footer,” then this will not be the tool for you. It’s interface may speed up production for some individuals, but will annoy others (even if it is fantastic). But go on- give it a try and let me know what you think!
This is still slide management. Even though presented differently, you’re not getting away from having singularly-focused slide-based information. Prezi does add multiple focuses to the slides themselves- which is awesome. But the consumption of the information for your viewers still seems somewhat linear (it’s not some sort of organic, crazy, flash of data and lights). However, based on the ability to consume media today, audiences will appreciate this middle ground technology. Thumbs up.

from never heard of it to 24 hours later http://prezi.com/51221/ and I am still in linear mode! Just wait…
