A news report today said Verizon Wireless and Apple Inc. are discussing possibly developing an iPhone that would work for Verizon over its CDMA-based wireless network.
The report, in USA Today, cited unnamed sources familiar with the talks.
Hmmmm….you guys think this is a legit lead?
Report: Verizon in talks with Apple to become iPhone carrier.

Yes, yes it is. Verizon cannot afford to pass on the platform twice in the same decade. If Apple can shoehorn a CDMA radio in it, Verizon will buy it and sell it. My only hope is they keep their very-very sad UI/OS away from it. That was one of the hold ups before, we’ll see what happens this time around.Side-note: AT&T has exclusivity wrapped up until 2010.
I was wandering about the AT&T deal because I’ve heard that it was extended…but wasn’t sure how long…any recent articles telling when in 2010?AT&T is trying to get an extra year extension to take it out to 2011:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123973238611017715.html
