Streamy Don't Work Good

If you are interested in pulling together news feeds from multiple sources or keeping up to date on news via categories or custom feeds- Streamy may be a good option for you…if it worked.

In my tests, Streamy performed okay, but seemed like a glossy version of Google Reader with more bugs. Currently, upon re-entry to the site, I’m staring at a loading bar that just sits there (see above).

Also, as I began to add in news feeds as “subscriptions” I noticed that I could subscribe to a feed, but that “following” a feed was different, and that to do both gave me duplicate entries in the subscriptions area…not as user friendly as I initially thought.

It does not seem like the view to pull together all of your news feeds worked as my feeds were chunked together by feed source, instead of by date.

I still can’t log back into the site, freezes up on this load bar…

    Hey Chris,

Looks like you caught us at a bad time there; site is up and running. Apologies for the confusion around following and subscriptions, we’re making a transition right now.

While we do share components of Google Reader, one of the biggest draws has been the ability to consolidate social networking sites into a single interface, with news and chat in the same place.

Definitely give Streamy another try. We’re going to add an intro tour for new users to show off the more powerful features.

    Thanks!

    Don
